Charlene (Char) Hadwin

Upon retirement from successful careers in the private and non-profit sectors, Char began exploring ways to express her life’s journey through her canvas paintings and the upcycling of discarded wood pallets and recyclable materials.

In 2016 Charlene formed Amagical Art to showcase her art and offer new inspirations for purchase. As a new artist in the community, her work is gaining popularity throughout the Reno/Sparks area, and nationwide. As a self-taught Artist, her art represents her deep feelings about her life’s journey; it is both a challenge and an outlet; a discipline and a passion. Char’s preferred medium is “mixed” using acrylic paint adding discarded jewelry, broken glass, then finished with resin, she uses many different styles and techniques in her art that creates unique one of a kind abstract pieces. She has her collection series, her upcycled wood pallets, and her work with resin and glass.  She is constantly creating and selling her art.

When Char isn’t painting, she volunteers with art organizations, travels the world, and teaches her craft with private students in her studio and in the classroom at Truckee Meadows Community College.
