Marie Provine

Marie Provine has been a Tempe, Arizona resident since 2001 when she came from Syracuse, NY to direct the School of Justice Studies at Arizona State University.  Marie mixed art and photography with her academic scholarship.  Since retirement from ASU in 2011, she has had more time for her art, focusing primarily on oils and pastels, usually in a soft realist tradition.  She loves to paint animals, some of which she cares for at a wildlife refuge.  Marie is invested in promoting the arts as a member of several artist organizations.  Currently, she is serving as president of the Tempe Art Guild.  Her work is on display at ASU’s downtown campus and at the Tempe Center for the Arts. Her son Stuart Provine lives in Wellington, Nevada, and she hopes to become a frequent visitor there!
