“IMAGINATION IS THE PRIMARY FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS” ─ Walter A. Daniels
Walter Daniels has lived in Carson City, Nevada for almost thirty-seven years, and been an artist for most of his life. His true passion in life is portraits and figure painting in oil. For the last thirty years, he has been painting people from all walks of life, and his paintings focus on people in everyday situations, which became his passion and set the theme for his portfolio. He worked in the theater and movie industry for several years, and this gave him a certain degree of imaginative interpretation for setting up the models in the scenes of his paintings. He strives to convey strength and character in his paintings and enhance the essential characteristics of the subject while keeping an overall balance.
Walter belongs to several art organizations, especially the NAA, and won several People’s Choice Awards and has received numerous other awards for his work. In 2017 he published an amazing book “Portrait and Figure Painting Camera to Canvas” which expresses a message of how important it is to take reference photographs of the subject or any subject matter to be completed for a painting. Most professional portrait artists will take reference photographs, which is very essential because our minds can’t remember all the fine details.
