I am Jeff Willis, I paint with acrylic and oil. I love the simplicity of acrylic as it dries fast so I can work quickly and make adjustments on the fly. There are many paintings I have done entirely in acrylic, I particularly like using it as a base to add oil paint over the top and to highlight certain areas. I love the vibrant color and its blending abilities. I have grown to specialize in landscape paintings. I live in Reno Nevada where are blessed to have the Lake Tahoe, the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Great Basin for inspiration! I am a primarily self taught artist. But I come from an artistic family and I lean on a network of artists for tips and ideas. I have displayed my art at several local venues around Reno and participated in the Reno Tahoe International Art Show. When I am not painting I love distance running, learning art history, listening to music, hiking and travel. Nothing better than a glass of wine, music through the head phones and painting!
