I’m Felicia Sotomayor, a photographer based in Carson Valley. My work is driven by presence and instinct, by the need to catch what’s real before it slips away. Photography, for me, isn’t about control or perfection. It’s about noticing. It’s about being there when the light shifts, when someone’s posture says more than words, when a horse turns its head just so. Those moments are quiet, but they hold everything.

I photograph wildlife, people, and places that matter to me. Ranches, local events, and everyday corners of community life; these are the spaces where I feel most connected. I don’t chase spectacle. I wait, I watch, and I trust my gut to turn toward what feels honest. My passion is in preserving what’s already happening, without interruption. If someone sees my work and feels the moment, not just the image, then I’ve done what matters most.
