Nancy Giannini has been painting for approximately 45 years and taught painting for 15 years. Although she is essentially self-taught, she has studied with various artists for the purpose of defining and highlighting the detail, which is reflected in her work.
While painting a large variety of subject matter, Nancy finds old buildings and barns her favorites. Painting in oils, her subject matter is captured in the natural color of the rule setting. Traveling throughout the West, in search of these vanishing structures has been, in itself, a historical and educational experience.
The varied architectural styles are reflections of the purpose, climate and sub culture of an area. To Nancy, they represent the hard work, determination and future of our American heritage. With her paintings, Nancy is documenting the historical elements as well as the rural atmosphere of early Western life… Something she should strongly feels should be preserved.
Many of Nancy’s paintings are hanging in private and corporate collections across the United States. Her paintings have been displayed in Monterey Peninsula art galleries. She is also affiliated with several northern Nevada art galleries.
Born in California, Nancy now resides with her husband in Reno, Nevada. She finds Nevada a perfect environment, providing many and varied opportunities in the rule and rustic subjects she loves to paint.
