Josh Hobson wants to use his photography to bring landscapes to the world and bring the world to some landscapes they might never personally see.
A long-distance cyclist and hiker, Josh loves using a slower pace to move across a landscape to see more detail and get a better feel of the places he’s moving through. Josh’s willingness to get to places in nature that many won’t go or can’t access provides views of different worlds or fresh perspectives of more familiar places.
Among his travels, Josh has cycled from coast to coast to coast across the United States, as well as several other ridiculously long bike tours. He hiked the top 1200 miles of the Appalachian Trail and all 165 miles of the Tahoe Rim Trail, as well as countless trails in state parks across the country. On the AT, Josh acquired the trail name Ooh, Look! for his propensity to stop in his tracks, point into the distance and say things like “Ooh, look how green that moss is on that rock over there”.
Currently, Josh has visited 52 US states and territories and found scenery that exceeded his expectations in each one. Josh has been taking photos of his travels for decades, but is new to providing them for public display. He is honored to have his landscapes displayed alongside works of others who want to document the world with their photography.
