“Marbling on Silk” by Pietro Accardi

Please join Professional Marbler Pietro Accardi as he shares his skills in marbelizing at a class sponsored by the Nevada Artists Association.

Description: In this class, Pietro Accardi will show you the tools, tips, and tricks to create beautiful, marbleized silk scarves.  Pietro will demonstrate how to prepare the bath, apply colors, and use rakes and combs to form original designs.  Each participant will make one silk scarf.

Pietro Accardi owned a Bookbindery in Turin, Italy for 12 years. He worked for Turin’s Municipal Archives and University Libraries restoring and binding documents and books.  He currently runs his own paper marbling and decorative box-making business as well as doing restoration work for the University of Reno and teaching classes.
