The Impact of Values on Watercolor

Watercolor Workshop by Ronnie Rector
September 22, 2024 from 9am-3pm
449 W. King St., Carson City (on the Brewery Arts Center Campus)

Award-winning watercolor painter Ronnie Rector will share her successful
approach to painting watercolors with beautiful values.

Description: This class will help watercolorists get past the middle-value “oh, that’s pretty painting phase and head for the “wow!” in your work. The Values class will focus on just that: Values; from saving your whites to going for the full dark. You will practice making various samples as Ronnie teaches you the importance of creating darks that make other areas of a painting “pop,” what paint colors make beautiful lively darks, how watercolors make the prettiest shadows, layering, glazing, negative painting vs. positive painting, and more.

Workshop price    NAA Members – $65.00        Non-members – $75.00  (materials/supply list will be provided shortly after registration)
